Locarno Film Festival has unveiled its Pardi di Domani section, a showcase of emerging talents and innovative cinematic expressions. This year's lineup features 40 world premieres across three competitions, with a focus on both established and emerging filmmakers. The festival's commitment to fostering dialogue between generations and traditions is evident in the selection, which includes films from 29 countries. Among the notable titles are 'Mare's Nest' by Ben Rivers, 'A Useful Ghost' by Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke, and 'Fireflies' by Bani Khoshnoudi. The Pardi di Domani section is a vital space for expressive experimentation and innovative forms of cinematic poetry, according to the festival. The lineup also includes the Concorso Corti d'Autore, featuring short films by established directors, and the Concorso Internazionale and Concorso Nazionale, which showcase emerging talents from around the world and in Switzerland, respectively. The festival's Open Doors Screenings program, meanwhile, supports filmmakers from underrepresented regions and countries where cinema is at risk. This year's selection includes films from across the African continent, such as 'La kora de mon père' by Aymar Esse and 'The Prophet' by Ique Langa.
